Get To Know The Newtons
During the summer we raise and sell sunflowers in our local area. Our self-sustaining gardens and fruit trees keep us in healthy fruits and vegetables that we love to share with neighbors and friends.
We have a small herd of steers that we rotate in several fields and sell when they are the right size and age.
During the Fall and Winter there is Dove, Turkey, and Deer hunting on the farm for friends and family. From Spring to Fall there are fish biting in our pond!
We occasionally raise cages of catfish and trout in our acre pond for local consumption by churches and clubs.
We are very involved in our community in many ways:
- We are active and working members of Oakwood United Methodist Church, attending, teaching, singing and playing instruments, participating.
- We support community members who need help through our church food pantry and through fund-raising efforts for local, national, and international humanitarian causes.
- We are active in helping plan our rural locality’s growth and development and in promoting support for local farmers through a co-op to sell locally raised produce.
